Sometimes you just don’t feel like making elaborate meals. In a busy world like today, you’re more prone to eating fast food – especially when grabbing a slice of pizza from the local shop is so easy. As tempting as this is, don’t resort to eating out for everyday meals and instead make your own. That greasy pizza slice down the corner will satisfy you temporarily, but you will regret it when you have to hit the gym twice as hard – or when you feel that heart burn. Here is my quick and easy go-to recipe that I use for days when I just don’t have time to cook. To make it extra healthy, omit the butter or use olive oil, limit the cheese, add more veggies, and use a whole wheat naan bread instead.
- 1/4 cup small red onion chopped
- 1/4 cup green pepper chopped
- 1/4 cup mushrooms sliced
- 1/4 cup black olives small handful
- 1/4 cup hot pepper rings use as desired
- 3 tbsp pizza sauce or pasta sauce use 2-3 tbsp or as desired
- 1/2 cup mozzarella or marble cheese shred and use as desired
- 1 tsp Parmesan cheese sprinkle as desired
- 1/2 tsp italian seasoning sprinkle as desired
- 1 tbsp butter use garlic butter for enhanced taste
- 1 naan bread use more as needed
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees, lightly grease baking pan with butter, save remaining for later.
- Add pizza sauce to naan bread, then add cheese layer and chopped vegetables. Add remaining cheese, sprinkle with parmesan and oregano, take remaining butter and grease edges of naan.
- Place naan on to baking pan then place in oven when ready. Allow the pizza to bake for 5 minutes then check, place for another 5 minutes if you want it more crispy. Buon appetito!
